Several operatives for a Wal-Mart advocacy group, and a Blacksburg development corporation named “Fiddlin’ With Green Space,” were found digging a new foundation inside the empty, old Blacksburg Middle School building last Thursday night, according to town police.
The three individuals carried shovels, property stakes, high-intensity lights, gallons of blue paint, and kept addressing each new police officer on the scene with “Welcome to Wal-Mart, officer!
Wal-Mart Without Borders is a group of dedicated, aggressive stock investors concerned the Arkansas-based conglomerate faces too many borders to development, and only through covert tactics can the world be "truly global," and open to big-box “pasture aisles,” as the group calls the interiors of their stores.
"This is far from over," said a rueful Fiddlin' With Green Space member, who referred to herself only as "The Green Gremlin," while being booked for trespassing.
“We were just letting a little fresh air in this stale store...I mean, school,” said another sad-faced greeter, a man that arresting officers made write on a chalk blackboard one-hundred times: I will not dig in the Old Middle School without permission.
